Motivation and inspiration. When you are motivated, you can draw inspiration from wherever. When you are inspired, you get motivated. There is a fine line that makes these two different from each other, yet they go hand in hand. Both are extremely important for content writers.
The job of content writers is not easy. In general, professional writers are doing a challenging task. You have to be creative, patient, preserving and honest always in all ways. You must have the ability to manage your time smartly and to work under pressure whatever time it is. Unfortunately though, all these are still easier said than done. Not to mention, everything you produce as a content writer comes from you, your own research and your own energy.
Reality check. It’s easier to lose the drive to write than to gain it. Especially when life has been rough and tough lately, when your emotions are going up and down, mostly down, sometimes you get that feeling of wanting to give up and quit writing. I understand. Every writer has been there.
It could be the writer’s block doing its dreadful work, or it could be something else that just saps the writing motivation out of you. Whatever the case is, here’s a list to help you whenever you’re going through it yet you still need to comply with your work and produce outputs.
Here are 7 things that can inspire you to enthusiastically write content.
1 – Your Favorite Movies or Series
Hit two birds with one stone. Rest, and relax your mind from straining thoughts and thought processing. Be entertained as you aim to earn inspiration. Ask around. Many creative artists do this. Watch movies or series. They could be new to you or something you have already watched over and over again. Whatever it is, as long as you feel like it’s something you need to de-stress yourself, get the film rolling.
What’s so nice about using movies and series as an inspiration to what you are going to write is that you get to take a much-needed break from work. It’s actually healing, particularly if you are watching shows that make you laugh, feel good and forget about stressful matters. Watching educational and informative shows will help you achieve unique, creative and brilliant ideas, which you can put into words as you write.
2 – Celebrities You Look Up To
Related to the previous number and still part of the entertainment industry, celebrities you look up to could also become a source of your inspiration to write. You are a fan of them, and you truly admire their personalities, regard their achievements and cherish their life stories. You can use them as the subject or the main character of your content, or you can take a special or interesting part of their story to build your piece.
3 – Places You Traveled To
Traveling is one of the best things in life. There are loads of things to learn from different places. On top of that, they offer diverse experiences as well. Every moment is priceless. There’s something to learn from each part of a trip. From the food, the people, the travel destinations, the culture and many more, your eyes will be opened to see the colorfulness of the world you live in.
If you are a content writer, traveling can inspire you in a very extensive way. There’s always room for new ideas in such beautifully memorable travel experiences. There’s always a story to tell, a content to create.
4 – Food You Love
How awesome food surely is! It feeds your physical body and gives you more energy to gain inspiration too. Food you love can also be your source of inspiration as it can give you so many different kinds of feelings. One of the most essential ingredients of great content is great inspiration. The recipe will be made possible while thinking out of the box! Even with simple food, you can come up with special topics.
5 – New Hobbies
Do you notice how active and productive you become when there’s a new hobby you’re interested in? Yup, you are more glowing, alive and driven!
Learn new hobbies! Look at what your heart and mind mutually want to achieve at the moment. Once you get a hold of one, use that as inspiration to write. Since your dynamism is currently right there, target an inspiration right there. Trust me, you will be able to write more effectively if you are writing about something that energizes and cheers you up!
6 – Your Old Writeups
At the moment, you are not inspired enough to write well. But remember, you have been there. This isn’t the first time. Working in a creative agency or working independently, you have experienced a lot as a writer. You got through, for so many times. Take a look at your old writeups. Take a peek back to your accomplished content. You did great. You produced more than fantastic stories.
While you read those old content, you will somehow feel like it was not you who wrote those things. Some of the reasons could be probably because you now have a different writing style or tone, or because you are not feeling yourself right now. Yet while you are there now, reading those old writeups could be a helpful way to refresh your memory and your heart’s memory about how you actually are as a writer, if you currently feel lost and uninspired.
Moreover, from the topics of your old content, you might be able to think of fresh angles to write about. That’s like opening doors you totally did not notice before.
7 – Your Experiences
Last but not the least is certainly the best fountain of inspiration to write, and that’s none other than your experiences. You know them all by heart. No in-depth research is hugely necessary. You can write them down without anybody’s help. You will be able to write more words than you think you already have written. That’s because you are enjoying your story-telling through that content, or because you can narrate every experience in detail, to the point that you don’t notice you have already created more than you thought you would.

INSPIRED TO WRITE
Times when you can’t seem to get enough determination and zest to write are times of difficulties for writers. Every writer working professionally, accomplishing write ups on a daily, regular or monthly basis, is familiar with those.
It can get frustrating and disappointing. Sometimes, you beat yourself up because of it. However, what you must keep in mind is that you should also give yourself some space and time to rest away from writing. You could be experiencing such a writer’s struggle because of too much information or too much writing. Your brain gets tired too, you know. Your heart gets affected as well.
Take a breather, and while you’re at it, you can naturally and unknowingly gain inspiration, leading you to fresh ideas and to a fired up spirit to write later or as soon as possible. You may worry sometimes, but don’t dwell there. You may be feeling uninspired right now, but you will be able to write again later.
