Bhangarh Fort (Rajasthan)
Bhangarh Fort is the name that surely comes in any list of haunted places in India. Settled in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, it is a 17th-century fort that is also credited as one of the most haunted places in the world.
There are many horror stories associated with this place. According to one of the most famous legends, a Tantric worshiper by the name of Singhia fell madly in love with the princess Ratnavati of Alwar.
He tried to use dark magic to attract her. The princess became suspicious about this vicious plan and therefore sentenced the tantric to death. It is believed that in his last breath, the tantric cursed the princess and the whole court.
Now, the fort is renowned for being haunted, and because of being near to Jaipur, it is one of the most popular places to visit in Rajasthan.
People who visited the fort have perceived yelling and screams arising from the fort. No one is permitted to enter the fort after sunset or before morning.

Shaniwar Wada (Maharashtra)
Shaniwar Wada is a wonderful fort constructed by Bairao and is a major piece of Indian history.
The fort is considered the most spooky spot in Pune. It is believed that the haunted environment here on every full moon night becomes more strong.
According to a mysterious legend, a young prince was brutally killed here, which is perhaps why his spirit has been frequently spotted by locals and some visitors at night. Some of them had heard screaming and crying voices coming from the fort.
It is advised to visit Shaniwar Wada during day hours as the entry inside the fort is restricted at night, except for the guards.
Brij Raj Bhawan Palace (Rajasthan)
Brij Raj Bhavan Palace is an old palace in Kota, Rajasthan, that has been converted into a heritage hotel. You can find this in most of the list of haunted places in India.
The Palace is supposedly haunted by a ghost of a British officer named Major Burton, who was killed during the Revolt of 1857.
Some people add to the legend that the Major and his son were shot inside the palace and since then their spirits are roaming there.

According to a very famous legend, the ghost of King Madho Singh hunts the fort. Allegedly the king loved his queens and this fort very much and this love continued even after his death.
It is believed that even today the soul of the king wanders in this fort and does not allow any change or renovation in it.
