ICSI Success Stories
ICSI is an assisted reproductive technique in which a single healthy sperm is injected directly to the cytoplasm of the egg so, it can be fertilised. This technique was invented to help couple who continuously had failed IVF or with severe male fertility problems such as, low sperm count, azoospermia, low sperm motility, etc.
Is ICSI successful?
The technique of ICSI is used in addition to conventional IVF. That’s why, the success rate of ICSI is much greater than conventional IVF. Many hopeless couples with male factor infertility has been able to achieve parenthood successfully at Australian Concept’s IVF Clinic. Out of all the eggs retrieved, about 80% are fertilised successfully through ICSI. We have numerous ICSI success stories of couples who faced fertility issues due to low quality of sperm, etc.
A couple was facing fertility issues as they failed to conceive. After five years of trying and waiting patiently they visited Australian Concept’s IVF Clinic. Our specialists after having a session with them recommended them to go through a few tests. As per the reports, the female partner was healthy and had good quality of eggs.
They recommended the male partner to go for semen analysis. As a result, the male partner was diagnosed with non-obstructive azoospermia. He had poor quality and very low sperm count. We recommended them to go for ICSI / IVF.
We collected 18 eggs out of which only 8 were fertilised and 4 developed into blastocyst. Although, this was not a good amount of eggs fertilised but we transferred the best one to her uterus. To our surprise, she conceived, unfortunately, she faced a miscarriage at her 7th month.
They again went for their another best blastocyst and conceived successfully. This time around it resulted in the birth of a healthy baby boy.
