Ojas Maheshwari from Mumbai has emerged as one of the toppers of the JEE Mains exam. Despite having 60% hearing impairment. Ojas secured a whopping 99.994 percentile in the JEE Mains and secured the first rank in the PwD category. His success story is nothing short of miraculous as he faced several difficulties in his preparation journey.
Ojas was diagnosed with hearing loss at the age of 7. He is unable to fully hear audio content and faced tremendous difficulties in attending online classes due to the lack of his ability to lip read teachers. Ojas dedicated more than 12 hours per day to his preparation and ensured that he slept for 7 hours. As per him, his consistent routine and regular mock tests helped him secure such stellar scores in the JEE Mains exam.
Ojas is now focused on cracking the JEE Advanced exam and aspires to get into a top IIT (Indian Institute of Technology). Ojas has also been preparing for Olympiads since class 8th and credits his mother for the rigour in his preparation.
The JEE Mains is a national level entrance exam for admission into various engineering colleges in the country. The exam was conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) this year and had close to a million applicants this year.
