All About Golden Temple :-
The most sacred place in all of India, it’s a must-see for every visitor to this city. The temple was built in the 16th century by Guru Ram Das who was also known as the second Guru of Sikhism. The temple is surrounded by lush green gardens and has four entrances, one for men, another for women and two for pilgrims. Inside the main sanctum is an idol of the Sikh Gyan Guru called “Guru Granth Sahib” which is marked with 24 lines of holy scripture from the Sikh holy book, “Guru Granth Sahib”. Also inside the sanctum is a marble platform where devotees sit on one side and listen to sermons from Sikh gurus while on the other side pilgrims can sit on wooden benches and meditate.
The Langar or free kitchen where people can eat free food prepared by volunteers who work at Golden Temple. This attracts many people who come just to get some food but many others believe that it’s against their religion because you’re supposed to pay for everything when you go into a place like a church or a mosque
