The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the national standards body of India that formulates standards and offers certification. BIS is a wing of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, in the Government of India. BIS’s responsibility is to implement standards and take care of the quality of products manufactured in India.
