These five tips will help you choose the perfect sectional or sofa for you.
Rule 1. Start with the right height for your sofa to
Before you can decide on the right seat depth, it is important to think about how you sit. Are you more comfortable sitting on your back or on your feet?
It is better to sit straight up. A seat that supports your legs, and allows your knees at 90 degrees, is a smart choice. A seat that supports your legs will allow you to feel your feet touch ground. A seat depth of 21-22 inches is ideal for people between 5’4″ and 5’10. This will give you enough space between your legs and the seat’s edge. A seat depth of 23″-25″ is best for taller people. For smaller persons, a depth of 20 inches may be an option. Some people prefer curling up to sit straight. A deep sofa is a great choice. Start by increasing the sofa’s size by just a few inches. Accent pillows can be added to your sofa to provide extra support. Depending on your needs, a sectional sofa might be larger than a regular couch.
Rule 2. Be aware of the height of your sofa’s chairs.
If the sofa’s seat height is too low, taller people might feel more like they are sitting down than they are squatting. Shorter people might feel that their legs are higher than the ground. As a general rule, the deeper the seat depth is, the higher the required height. There are many seat height options for comfortable couches. The average range is 17-18 inches. These foams are well-known for their durability and comfort. Medley uses only materials that are both good for the environment as well as for your health. These materials include certified poly foam and organic Dunlop latex, which is GOALS certified organic Dunlop. For a more relaxed look, wool and down fillings are great. If you use a down cushion as your seat cushion, it may cause some sinking. The down filling can shift. This is normal. To keep your cushions in shape, it is a good idea for them to be fluffed. The sofa cushions should be baffling. This allows you control the down filling’s movement, and keeps it in place. A sofa with a tight back and firm cushion is a good option if you require extra support or prefer to be upright. If you plan to use your sofa for recline, or taking naps, looser back cushions may be more appropriate.
3: You should focus on your length in order to be able to lounge as
A 3-seater sofa is better if you plan on using the sofa frequently. A 3-seat sofa is approximately 7 feet long (or 84 inches). It can be made shorter or longer, depending on your height.
4: Consider the height of your back when deciding on style.
Your height will determine the ideal height of your sofa’s back. Consider whether you will need a headrest if you intend to place a television in front of your sofa. The average height of a sofa’s back should be between 26” and 32”. For taller persons, a higher back will be more supportive. The comfort of your sofa’s back will affect how comfortable it is. Consider how different a sofa with an 8-foot ceiling and a higher back will look in your space than one with a low profile. It all depends upon your personal preferences and the space you have available.
5 – To recline, or not to recline
If you are primarily using your sofa to recline, then pitch sofas (also known as sofas with slightly angled backs) are the best choice. This type of sofa can be sat straight, but is better for those with back problems or who prefer a more vertical layout. Take a look at yourself! These are our top 5 tips.
