For many kids, Disneyland Paris represents the pinnacle of childhood fantasy: a trip to the magical kingdom to spend time with Mickey Mouse and his friends. Therefore, I agree that a trip to Euro Disney is a great time for many families.
Lucky enough to have been able to go several times over the last 15 years, my family and I enjoy it just as much as the first time we went. The only change is that my daughter, who is now 17, no longer wants to dress up in Disney costumes.
Two parks and a resort complex now make up Disneyland Paris, which has grown considerably over the years. The main park has the iconic Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and popular attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean. You can find it in Disney theme parks all around the globe (although all have subtle variations). MGM Studios is the newest of the two parks, and it offers a fascinating look behind the scenes of filmmaking in addition to thrilling attractions. We had a great time on both the Tower of Terror and the brand new Finding Nemo Ride.
Benefits of selecting this place for holidays
The biggest thrill of visiting Disneyland Paris is getting to hang out with your favorite cartoon characters in their natural habitats. It would be a shame to miss the light procession and fireworks in the summertime. My kids had a blast searching for the characters and having their autograph books signed. We’ll never forget when Goofy sat in Anna’s stroller or when Jack tried to outrun Captain Hook.
If you are in Europe and have never been to a Disney theme park before, I highly suggest Euro Disney. It is a really welcoming location, it includes all the classic attractions, and it is conveniently located near us. We also discovered that three days was the maximum amount of time that young children could handle the excitement and novelty of the situation. This kind of trip, particularly one farther away, may be time-consuming and costly, especially if your kids don’t meet the height or age requirements for the rides.
The advice for planning your Disneyland Paris holidays
If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, you may want to think about booking a hotel off the property.
Everyone in the family will have a wonderful time visiting Disneyland Paris. It’s great to go while the kids are little (though even my adolescents get excited about Disney), and it’s definitely something you won’t soon forget. There are plenty of places to stay, but if you’re trying to save money on your vacation, you may want to look elsewhere.
Selection accommodations
The Disney Hotels are beautiful, but the high cost of staying there prevents some people from ever visiting the Magic Kingdom. Another consideration is that if you want to spend all of your time in the park, the hotel is less crucial since you will just be using it to sleep in. While amenities like swimming pools are wonderful, you probably won’t want to spend your vacation time there rather than exploring the parks.
The quaint towns and cities around it have expanded rapidly in recent years and now offer competitive options at a fraction of the price. The majority provide shuttle services to the park and access to the beautiful French countryside.
While the accommodations at the Explorers hotel outside the resort are smaller than those at the Disney hotels, they are more than enough for a short stay of three to four days since they can accommodate a family of up to six people (1 double, 2 twin, and bunk beds).
We also rented a car to go to Disneyland Paris and stayed at a villa near Marne-la-Vallée. This is fantastic, but remember that you’ll have to pay for parking every day. However, the savings you’ll realize from being able to shop and prepare your own food or dine at locally owned establishments will more than makeup for the extra cost.
Hotel selections
If you decide to take a trip to Euro Disney, you may choose from a wide variety of hotels.
Since there is so much to see and do at the resort, it is recommended that visitors spend at least one night there to make the most of their time there.
Both the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hotel New York are four-star establishments, while the Newport Bay Club and Sequoia Lodge are three-star options for visitors.
The resort has many two-star hotels, including the Hotel Cheyenne, Hotel Santa Fe, and the Davy Crockett Ranch.
If you’re planning a trip here to Paris but can’t afford to stay in one of the Disney Hotels, you could be pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of nearby cities and villages.
If you want to go to Disneyland Paris, when should you go?
Millions of people visit Disneyland Paris year, making it the most popular theme park in Europe. However, the number of guests fluctuates quite a bit, so knowing when to go to Euro Disney can help you avoid the crowds.
My recommendation, if your party doesn’t include any kids, is to schedule all visits at periods when local schoolchildren are in session. It’s best to avoid the busiest periods, which tend to coincide with school breaks. Keep in mind that June and July are peak months for Disneyland Paris visits because of the many school groups that go there for field trips.
You should attempt to go to the park during one of the three slow periods,’ which are as follows:
- Dates: Approximately January 15th through March 30th
- About the second half of April until around the middle of July
- Between the middle of September and the beginning of December (don’t do it on Halloween!)
Naturally, it is not always feasible to visit during these periods, and there will be times. When you want to come during busy times due to special events. Such as during the summer for the nighttime light parades and fireworks, or during the Christmas season for the particular festivities and ambiance.
Travel to Euro Disney
When you travel to Euro Disney during off-peak hours, you won’t have to wait as long in line for the rides. Meeting and greeting the characters will be a breeze as well (a great favorite with the very young we used to have lots of fun collecting autographs)
If you must go at the busiest hours. Plan ahead to make the most of your time there and, with any luck, avoid long waits for the most popular rides (this is where the fast passes come in handy). The park is open for longer in the summer, giving you more opportunities to explore all of its features.
