Most NGOs in Mumbai work on various dimensions of climate change, water, environment, health, and education, among other sectors, which have attracted national and international attention. NGOs are striving to enhance our impact on development in Mumbai, the Maharashtra region, and beyond.
The formulation and implementation of effective policy initiatives require the presence of vigorous institutional and governance mechanisms and trained leadership to implement these. Therefore, NGOs in Mumbai have always kept capacity building at the forefront of their agenda as an organization. In keeping with its title, the Leadership of Environment and Development has aspired to generate bright and innovative leadership to tackle the increasingly complex challenges of environment and development that plague the contemporary world.
Non Profit Organizations Focus on the Development
Nonprofit organizations focus on the nuanced intellectual development of each budding professional through innovative teaching methods employed by some of the brightest minds in the field. The training program brings together a dynamic mix of people from different walks of life and geographical areas in the country, each passionate about making a difference in their field of study. Many NGOs in Maharashtra are working across and engaged in cutting-edge work internationally, making us a proud global network.
Nonprofit organization associates are high achievers who become fellows after a rigorous training program on cross-sectoral issues. NGOs become part of the largest and most robust network of development practitioners consisting of belonging to virtually every sector of the economy across the length and breadth of Maharashtra. Many of them are influencing policy and have become role models, having reached positions where they can make a difference. They meet periodically at regional and national levels and drive and shape the vision and future course of action. ALL funds will be hand-delivered to needy families in Mumbai whose lives have been destroyed as a result of the above-named reasons. Not one cent donated will go towards the expense of operating this charity, as it has no overhead costs involved with the operation.
NGOs Address the Developmental Challenges
The program brought together government, donors, communities, civil society, and the private sector for the successful adoption, mainstreaming, and monitoring of ambitious new global development agenda. Most local leaders agreed to replace MDGs with new universal and transformative SDGs to strive for an equitable and inclusive world through integrated approaches to sustainable development and collective actions, at all levels, by everyone, to address the developmental challenges. The complex nature of SDGs also requires innovations in knowledge management, research, and analysis, information management, policy engagement, and communication. The SDG Implementation Program is undertaking in-depth policy analysis and research studies to contribute towards the development and operationalization of country-specific SDGs, assessment of data needs and capacity building for reporting, and knowledge brokering to achieve policy coherence. Moreover, the program’s focus area is developing new initiatives to support country governments in the region to co-deliver the implementation of SDGs.
