How do you manage to operate an SMD screen continuously in a crisis room of global importance in record time?. This is the problem we were able to answer at the end of 2019 when installing an SMD screen for the World Health Organization.
An LED screen installation at the WHO
Established in 1948, the WHO has been active for more than 70 years in the management of global health. The organization benefits from a global presence thanks to offices across the planet, particularly in Europe.
In Geneva more specifically, the SHOC (Strategic Health Operations Centre) monitors world public health events day and night. They provide technical support and advice in setting up emergency operations. This activity takes place in dedicated rooms: the SHOC rooms. The installation of a giant LED screen in one of these crisis meeting rooms provides. The WHO with high-performance equipment in all circumstances.
Supplying an LED screen continuously
On the practical side, the challenge of this installation of a giant LED screen at the WHO was based on the need to operate the screen continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the event of an emergency, the entire room must be immediately functional, especially the video system represented by the SMD screens. Since the SHOC room was already equipped with a video wall for broadcasting its video media, we proceeded to replace the system.
A busy meeting room like the SHOC room requires the distribution of high-quality content that is visible up close. To allow this, we have installed SMD Screens with a size of 3840 x 1800 centimeters for a screen resolution of 3200 x 1500 pixels and a very small pitch of 1.2mm. All equipment is redundant to ensure continuous operation throughout the year. Finally, the advantage of the led screen also lies in its reduced heat, which allows it to be close in a very short time, unlike a projector.
The WHO trusted us and we were able to meet the challenge of a complete installation for a large-scale client, all in a very short time. In this way, the SHOC room was fully operational only 48 hours after the start of the work. The quality of the product associated with our expertise in the installation of SMD screens made it possible to deliver a complete service adapted to the needs of WHO.
Dynamic display SMD Screens in favor of the local
The global health situation as well as the travel ban that we have experienced for many months have changed our behavior and the way we plan our trips. According to a study by PWC France in 2020, 32% of buyers place local production as their first purchasing criterion. Consumption wants to be more and more local and consumers are more than ever expecting enhancement of their local environment. And on this last point, digital signage is the ideal medium.
Many major brands have already adopted this model in their communication, adapting their global strategy to a local territory. This way of proceeding has a name: “glocalization” (think global, act local). Since DOOH is an omnipresent medium in the daily lives of French people. It represents an opportunity not to be missed for merchants and advertisers. Who wish to highlight the local aspect of their activity.
