The iPhone 14 will be hitting stores any day now, and the rumors have been flying on what it will contain inside. Some are saying that it will have a bigger screen, some are saying that it will be made from metal instead of glass, but only time will tell the full truth behind these rumors. Until then, here are the top trending iPhone 14 features that have been revealed to date!
New materials
Apple is always up to date with the latest advances in technology, and this year they’ve decided to introduce a lot of new features. However, not all of these features are necessarily going to be a hit. For example, the introduction of glass backings will result in increased chance for cracks or breakage. We’ll just have to wait and see what Apple has up their sleeve this time around. They might even release an upgrade before the official announcement!
It’s important to note that a few of these changes were introduced by Samsung. The inclusion of 18:9 aspect ratios on some models and upgraded processors are being replicated by Samsung as well.
Updated camera tech
The iPhone camera is always a point of emphasis for Apple, and the new models are no different. This time around, many of the rumors suggest that the company will introduce three new models of the phone, with two of them having dual rear cameras. It’s unclear what technology the front-facing camera will have this time around, but it’s likely going to be improved over last year’s model. There’s also been speculation that the new phones will have an upgraded 3D sensor, which would allow users to create more immersive augmented reality experiences than ever before.
Improved battery life
This is one of the most common complaints about the latest generation of iPhones. The batteries are just not cutting it. Apple seems to think they have found a solution and hope that customers will be happy with their newest product.
Unfortunately, there is not much information out there on how this new battery technology works or what its benefits are, but we can assume it will be a vast improvement over what is currently available on the market. Some people believe the phone will come in two sizes, however, according to Forbes these rumors are unsubstantiated.
There is some speculation around an OLED screen with curved edges. If this were true then it would mean the phones would need a different type of power button as well as different connectors than current models which could be frustrating for those who still have an older model iPhone.
Longer lasting wireless charging
Wireless charging is a great feature to have and helps you cut down on the number of cables laying around your house. When I’m not at home, wireless charging is also nice because I can charge my phone without having to lug around a cord. Plus, it’s always nice when my phone is fully charged and ready for me to go so I don’t have to worry about forgetting to charge it before bed or in the morning. Another cool feature is that there are now more charging mats than ever, some with space for up to five devices!
Another cool new addition that might be in the upcoming release will be Face ID 3D recognition. It was introduced with iOS 12 as a safety measure against online hackers. With iOS 13, we could see this even more-so being used by customers as an extra level of security while they shop online, use banking apps and much more!
Updated screen design
The next generation of the iPhone will see a major redesign of the screen. It will be edge to edge and feature a variety of colors that can change depending on the user’s mood. The new design is ergonomic, sleek, and attractive. Its advanced technology ensures that images are crisp and vibrant in every lighting condition.
The phones also have much higher resolution screens than previous generations, which means more details are visible at any time – with less need for zoom.
They also sport much thinner bezels than ever before, which makes them more convenient to carry around as well as more pleasant to look at. Moreover, they will come with updated gesture navigation so you don’t even need to press buttons to control your device. You can simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open your home menu or swipe down from the top-right corner to pull down notifications!
Fast wired charging
The iPhone 14 series will be the first to offer fast wired charging. This new feature will charge your device to 50% within 30 minutes and fully charged in 1 hour. Fast wired charging is similar to quick charge, but it doesn’t require an adapter. You just plug the lightning cable into a power source (a wall outlet or USB port on a computer) and your phone starts charging.
To achieve this amazing feat, Apple had to redesign its circuitry so that power can flow both ways along the cable–from the phone to the charger and back again–instead of just from one end of the cord to another. For now, there’s no word yet on whether the new iPhones will ship with Lightning cables that have been updated to include a reversible connector at each end like Apple’s latest MacBook chargers do. But since everything else about the iPhone 14 series seems designed to make life easier for users–you’ll only need one type of plug-in for any device you buy–it’s likely that future Lightning cables will also be reversible.
New storage options
We’re expecting new storage options for the next generation of the iPhone. The most likely change will be in the form of a 256 GB upgrade, but other possibilities include an increase to 512 GB or even 1 TB. There’s also talk about a move from traditional hard drives to solid state drives, which could result in better battery life and increased processing speed.
The next generation of iPhones are expected to come with an upgraded camera.
Emergency SOS through Satellite
The new Emergency SOS feature in the all-new iPhone 14 series that is activated by pressing both sides of the sleep/wake button simultaneously, will send your location to a list of emergency contacts. This can be done without even unlocking your device.
Samsung Galaxy phones have had this for years, so Apple finally catching up is long overdue. The all-new SOS feature provides peace of mind, knowing that you can get help at any time – day or night.
